Gerhard Reichenbach premiered his own transcription of the complete Epitaphios by the famous greek composer Mikis Theodorakis in Athens at the Parnassos Concert Hall on November 24th, 2007.
This transcription is different from the arrangements of some Epitaphios, as they have been played by John Williams and others. Gerhard’s arrangement is closer to the original version using a lot of motivical material from the Bouzuki part of the original. Some movements are more free paraphrases than simple transcriptions.
